HOW TO GET TO VIENNA

Arrival by plane

If you are traveling to Vienna by plane, you will arrive either at Vienna International Airport in Schwechat, or in Bratislava. To get to the city centre from Vienna International Airport, located outside the city limits, you can take the City Airport Train (CAT), the Airport Express bus, the Schnellbahn (S-Bahn), the Vienna Airport Service or a taxi.

From Vienna International Airport

Underground: The City Airport Train leaves every half hour from the airport to the city centre (underground station "Landstraße/Wien Mitte"). The trip takes 16 minutes. For more information, please visit the following website.

By Airport Express Busses: Airport Express Busses from the Vienna Airport Lines connect Vienna International Airport and the city centre via three lines. For further information about timetables and fares, please visit the website of Vienna Airport Lines.

• Vienna International Airport - Wien Hauptbahnhof - Wien Westbahnhof
• Vienna International Airport - Donaumarina - Vienna International Centre - Donauzentrum

By S7 Schnellbahn (S-Bahn): From the airport, take the train towards "Wien Mitte", "Wien Nord" or "Floridsdorf". Please make sure to board trains towards "Wolfsthal" or "Flughafen" when going to the airport. You can buy tickets onsite before going down to the platforms. Please note that the public transport ticket for the city centre does NOT cover the whole way from and to the airport by S-Bahn. You have to buy an additional single ride one.

By pre-booked taxi with fixed rate: You also have the option to pre-book a taxi via the following site or this phone number: +43 1 40100. When booking via a phone call it is important to mention that you would like to book an airport transfer for the fixed rate. For € 42,00 (max. 4 people) you can get to any location in Vienna and vice versa. This is only applicable for one address per ride. If an additional stop is required, this will be charged extra.

By Uber: Book your ride via the Uber app on your phone. In the app you will get detailed pick-up information. The pick-up is located outside of terminal 3 on the upper level (departure level). Please be aware that if you arrive very early in the morning or late at night, it is possible that you have to wait longer than usually, since a driver needs to get to the airport from the city.

From Bratislava Airport

Bratislava Airport is located 65km from the centre of Vienna. The bus connection Bratislava - Vienna can be looked up at the websites of different private companies. For further information, please visit the website of Bratislava Airport. The trip takes approximately 90 minutes.

Arrival by train

This is how you can easily reach the congress venue by long-distance and local public transport from Vienna's train stations:
Main Train Station (Hauptbahnhof): Exit via Karl-Popper- Straße approx. 5 min walk.
West Train Station (Westbahnhof): Tram 18 (Direction St. Marx S station “Quartier Belvedere”) in 4 minutes intervals in ~ 16 minutes.

Public Transport in Vienna

Vienna has a well-developed public transport network. Buses, trains, streetcars and underground lines will take you almost anywhere in the city. Vienna public transport „Wiener Linien“ operates five underground lines, 29 streetcar and 127 bus lines, of which 24 are night lines. Night lines only operate between 0.30 am and 5 am. On weekends and public holidays, the Vienna underground remains at the service of its passengers all night. Buy tickets online: Wiener Linien Online Shop. A single ride costs 2,40 Euro, a 24hr-Ticket costs 8,00 Euro and a 7-days-Ticket 19,70 Euro (current status October 2025). You can also buy all tickets at the ticket machines at every station. In this case the 7-days-ticket costs 22,60 Euro since it is transferable and must be validated before the first use. All information regarding the different types of tickets can be found here. Make sure to carry a valid ticket with you whenever using the system, as a failure in showing it upon request results in a penalty of 105 Euro!
